O apoio previsto pela lei inclui a cultura brasileira em toda a sua diversidade. São elegíveis para receber recursos fazedores de cultura de áreas como artes visuais; leitura e literatura; expressões artísticas e culturais de povos tradicionais; coletivos culturais não formalizados; carnaval; cultura hip-hop e funk; entre outros.
